This publicETHOS workshop will introduce the participants to the powerful data analysis and visualisation tool, Tableau. Positioned as leader in Gartner’s most recent Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms, Tableau is a quickly growing program enabling businesses to make use of their data. Also on the research side of things Tableau is getting noticed. In ETHOS Lab we recently co-hosted Professor Axel Bruns’s workshop on using Tableau to perform analysis of data from Twitter. Tableau is useful for data analysis and visualisation due to its easy drag and drop functionality and ability to quickly display data in many different ways.

To inform about and instruct in the use of Tableau, we have invited the Danish consultancy Inviso, which is a featured Tableau partner. Inviso has worked with numerous high-profile organisations such as Dong Energy, Berlingske Media and the University of Copenhagen. They pride themselves on hands-on experience with the tools they teach and sell.

Speakers:

Marc Schønwandt is Tableau Consultant with Inviso where he supervises client companies in the use of Tableau for data analysis. He has a background in Business Administration and Information Systems from CBS and has many years of practical experience working with data and both the practical and business side of IT. He has taught multiple courses of Tableau at Danish Universities, including at the ITU.
