Watson Analytics is IBM’s new cloud based business intelligence and analytics service – join this publicETHOS workshop to discover how you can use Watson for your projects. Watson Analytics is most famously known for being based off the computer program which defeated Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings. IBM has since developed the Watson software and now use it to offer everything from data-based oncology diagnostics to answering questions about social media stats. With Watson Analytics IBM aims to bring easy data analytics to business, students and organisations. Watson Analytics visualizes quantitative data, suggests questions you can ask of  and reveals patterns in your data.

To help us getting started with Watson Analytics, Thomas Prien-Larsen from IBM will guest the ITU and instruct in its use.

Sign up for the workshop is not required.

Slides from the workshop are available here.

Speakers:
Thomas Prien-Larsen is a technical sales assistant at IBM whose main expertise is to demonstrate and instruct in the use of Watson Analytics. He also works with maintaining the software behind Watson, and so has great understanding of its capacities. He has previously instructed in the use of Watson Analytics multiple times, including at the ITU.
