ETHOS Lab is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Workshop Coordinator to lead the planning and execution of our Feminist Technoscience in Practice (FTSiP) workshop series this spring. This series bridges technical skills with Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and activist topics, creating opportunities for students and participants to explore how their technical expertise can contribute to shaping equitable and inclusive futures.

About the role:

As the Workshop Coordinator, you will oversee the organisation and facilitation of two workshops in the FTSiP series. These workshops will focus on intersections of queer, crip, feminist, and decolonial perspectives with technical practices such as data visualisation, database/archiving, tinkering/hacking, and materialisation. You will have the opportunity to help shape the exact topics of the sessions.

You’ll work closely with the ETHOS Lab Manager (Henriette Friis, hefh@itu.dk), who will provide regular support and guidance to ensure your workload is manageable and collaborative.

Your responsibilities:

  • Coordinate workshop activities: Oversee the planning and execution of two workshops, including scheduling, logistics, and participant outreach.
  • Communication with guest speakers: Identify and invite external speakers with relevant expertise to lead the lecture portion and contribute to the tutorial or speculation sessions.
  • Facilitate sessions: Act as a facilitator during portions of the workshops, ensuring an engaging and productive environment.
  • Create promotion materials: Design posters, IG posts, etc. to promote the events.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Passion for feminist technoscience, DEIB, and/or activist scholarship.
  • Experience in facilitating workshops or similar educational activities (it is a benefit if you have worked as a TA or workshop facilitator).
  • Familiarity with digital tools for data visualisation, archiving, or related practices is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse participants and collaborators.

What we offer:

  • A supportive work environment with regular check-ins to ensure balance and guidance.
  • Opportunities to engage with cutting-edge scholarship and activist practices.
  • A platform to contribute meaningfully to the intersection of technology and social justice.
  • 140 hours across the spring semester – to be used flexibly according to the session schedule.

Start Date:
 February 1
Eligibility and compensation:

This role is open to both:

  • Current Master’s students, who are seeking hands-on experience alongside their studies.
  • Recent graduates with a Master’s degree, who are looking to apply their skills in a professional setting.

The compensation for this position will be determined based on your status as a student or graduate, following institutional guidelines.

How to apply:
If this sounds like something where you feel you could contribute meaningfully, we’d love to hear from you! Please send your CV and a short motivation letter (MAX 1 page, ideally shorter) explaining your interest in the role and relevant experience to ethos@itu.dk by January 22nd 2025. Write “FTSiP Workshop Coordinator” in the subject line. Interviews to be held the following week. If you have experience with visual design work, please also send a couple of examples along with your application – please note this is not a requirement to get this role.
