December 2018
Thank you for 2018; happy holidays and new year!
It has been an eventful semester, and year! Throughout 2018, we have moved lab location, gotten new lab staff, and said goodbye to some, both temporarily and more permanently. We have enjoyed interfacing with the new cohort of Digital Innovation and Management students on Navigating Complexity, and hope to continue to support them. Thank you also to everyone who made our great events such as Ada Lovelace Day and PhD Info Day happen. In the same vein, our attendance at Culture Night ITU would not have been possible without our tireless Junior Researchers, who both volunteer on lab tasks and propel the research efforts of the lab.
Some of the most significant service outputs of ETHOS Lab were the AI and Ethics workshop and subsequent policy report, a joint effort between the Association of Nordic Engineers, ETHOS Lab staff and volunteers (Stefania Santagati and Sophia Knopf) and ITU researchers affiliated with the lab, Associate Professor Irina Shklovski and Assistant Professor Baki Cakici. Our 'data work' competencies were also put to use for the Masterclass with Professor Brit Ross Winthereik, organized by Alexandra Instituttet/InfinIT, in which Lab Manager Simy and new Lab Assistant Bertil Ipsen designed and executed data visualization and analysis exercises for SMEs.
ETHOS Lab would like to thank all volunteers, Junior Researchers and community members for their ongoing contribution to #laboratorylife in ETHOS Lab. We look forward to seeing you for Christmas hygge on the 14th!
All the best,
ETHOS Lab
